Just got back from a wonderful 3-week trip through parts of California, Oregon, and Washington states! As far as food goes and keeping to my vegetarian macrobiotic diet as much as possible (while still remaining flexible), I'd have to say that the trip was a success.
We carried with us an ice chest and a portable electric rice cooker that is small enough to use in a hotel bathroom if need be. Most of the time, we ate picnic-style in our room or somewhere outside depending on where we were, picking up fresh food in the local grocery stores. At other times, we had lunch or dinner at a restaurant.
Here's a list of some of the places we ate at along the way.
- Logan's Roadhouse, Redding, California (They have 180 restaurants across the country. Here's a link to their menus.)
- Johnson's Steakhouse at the Trinity Alps Golf Course, Weaverville, California (Here's a link to their dinner menu.)
- Anthony's At The Old Mill, Bend, Oregon
- Stockmen's Restaurant And Lounge, Half Way, Oregon
- The Historic Wallowa Lake Lodge, Joseph, Oregon (Here's a link to their dinner menu.)

- La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House, La Conner, Washington
- Nell Thorn Of La Conner, La Conner, Washington
